MOUNT VEEDER WINERY
ABOUT THE ESTATE
Michael and Arlene Bernstein were the first to plant grapevines on Mount Veeder, located in the Napa Valley in 1970.
At a time when planting vineyards on the valley floor was a daring endeavour, growing grapes up here, above the cloud line, was downright audacious. The gamble paid off.
When fifty-nine of their original Cabernet cuttings took root and flourished, they knew they were on to something. Encouraged by their friend and Napa legend Robert Mondavi, the Bernsteins established the first winery on Mount Veeder.

OUR AWARDS
WINES WITH ALTITUDE
Vines above the fog line
At Mount Veeder Winery, our wines are born from the same spirit of adventure that inspired our founders, the Bernsteins, to climb the mountain decades ago. While others dared to plant on the valley floor, we took the bold step of cultivating vines above the fog line. The risk was real, but the reward—extraordinary. For 50 years, we’ve championed wines with altitude—bottling and sharing expressions of Mount Veeder’s untamed beauty.
