Saldo California Zinfandel 2022
The goal is to produce a Zinfandel that is rich in depth, soft in mouth feel and loaded with red fruit and spice. The fruit is hand harvested and brought into the winery to be processed very gently through our destemming process. It is then fermented on the skins for 10–14 days gently extracting tannin and colour. After fermentation we age in French, American and Hungarian barrels for 9 months to develop a soft full-bodied mouthfeel.
Composition: Zinfandel (80%), Petite Sirah (12.5%), Grenache, Primitivo, Syrah (7.5%).
Aromas: Ripe red and black cherry, blackberry, lifted black pepper, and baking spice.
Flavours: The entry is immediately rich and full, with vibrant fruit and spice and a hint of chocolate. The finish is voluptuous with soft, round tannins.
ABV: 15.06%
